Vacaville, California; Tyler, Nacogdoches, Georgetown, Abilene, Allen . . . It took her a while to get here, but after 25 years in the drill team business, "Ms. Tek" hangs her hat and boots in Allen. "I love my girls!" she says. "Creativity, dream building and student development are just a few of the perks. Watching kids achieve their goals . . . priceless! Where else can you finger and foot paint on stage, roll around the floor in pajamas, and fight the mythic Spartans but with the Tallenettes?" Her dream began as she leafed through a 1970 Sports Illustrated magazine. She read about the famed Kilgore Rangerettes and her career was launched. "As a kid, I had planned on a football career. It wasn't until I got to middle school age playing Pop Warner football that I realized I had better find a more suitable plan. That is when I discovered the Rangerettes. I researched and found I could be around football a lot longer this way." Musical theater played a big part of her stage experience and continues to influence Showcase to this day. "It has really been a blessing to work with Tallenette families who have big dreams and share a common vision." When not
sewing a costume, creating a dance number, or designing a stage set, Ms.
Tek enjoys life with husband, Steve (retired teacher), son, Theron
(college student), daughters' families; Chantel & Jeff Incaudo and
Nicole & Dave Cortese and the four grandkids: Sofia, Stella, Sadie Mae
and Angelo.
